The Best Practices for Supervisors Course was designed for the professional development of Algerian middle school and high school English teacher supervisors. The course consisted of two 60-hour face-to-face trainings and an interim online phase. The first session of face-to-face trainings was delivered in October 2008. The second session, online, ran in winter 2009, and the final face-to-face session was held in spring 2009.

This syllabus outlines the 12-week curriculum and educational goals of the Best Practices for Inspectors online course. Included are a table that labels each week’s lesson and a list of skill expectations from completion of the course.

This resource is part seven of a competency based assessment plan focusing on a final teacher evaluation, rubrics and the closure of the assessment plan. Included are the final objectives, required materials, timing, rationale and procedure for completing the assessment.
