This civic education module focuses on human rights. It provides an overview of the concept and history of human rights from an international perspective and includes examples from Libya. It highlights the basic human rights granted to each person and explores how human rights have expanded to include comprehensive protections. It also describes human rights in Libya compared to international standards.
This civic education module teaches about the electoral process. It provides a comparative review of three key stages of the electoral cycle and describes various forms of electoral systems. It presents some of the major issues that will face Libya in the next election, such as the internally displaced persons vote.
This civic education module focuses on teaching gender issues. It highlights the status of women in Libya compared with other transitional democracies and defines the basic rights that protect women internationally. Also provided are resources for women to call for equal rights and best practices for expanding access to people with disabilities.
